Pilates for Kids
How can I get my kid interested in Pilates?
Have them come to m.a.c. Pilates for Kids! Whether your child is involved in competitive sports, gymnastics, dance or video games, the benefits of Pilates for kids and teens is proven to build core strength, flexibility, and mind body awareness, not to mention enhancing their confidence and presence in everyday life! m.a.c. Pilates for Kids classes are fun and interactive, without compromising form or funtion. Kids are instinctively physical and are able to educate their bodies to learn new and amazing patterns of movement, which adults often struggle with when beginning their Pilates practice. Pilates is a great way to keep kids fit, while having fun!
Are there any Pilates exercises I can do with my kids(s)?
Yes! Rolling Like a Ball, Swan Dive, Cat Stretch – just to name a few… My favorites are always the exercises that the kids create themselves. The Rolling Bridge of Mystery and The Whiny Child were two great ones created last fall during the m.a.c. Pilates for Kids course at Harmony.
Just for kicks, tell us what your favorite Pilates exercise is?
There will always be a special place in my heart for The Seal. And yes, I add sound effects!
